Allied Member Achievement of Excellent:
This award will recognize the Allied Member(s) that excels in supporting our engineering industry by offering high level of professional service and/or supplies. The nominees for this award are those members that best support the SDBEA by participating in one or more of the following ways; board of directors, sponsorships, training, or any other service provided to our association. The board will develop a short-list of nominations that the trade members will vote on for final selection. The Allied Member Achievement of Excellent winner in addition to receiving a certificate, be featured on the SDBEA website, and will be rewarded with a $100 cash prize.

Engineering Achievement and Excellence:
This award will recognize the engineer(s) that excels in their duties to service the occupants of their building(s) and company and maintaining their facility. Your application can be supported with letters of recommendation, customer appreciation, and vendor comments. The engineer will be evaluated on eight different area(s) allowing everyone to have an equal opportunity to apply. The winning candidate will receive a certificate, be featured on the SDBEA website, and will be rewarded with a $100 cash prize.

Areas of review

1. Engineering Operations (5 pts)
How has the candidate improved the operation of the property: i.e. workload issues, reduced deferred maintenance, managed service request, stream-line the operation and/or improved the quality of the work environment.

2. Energy, Recycling and Water Conservation (7 pts)
How has the candidate added to the property's way of managing it's energy, water use or decreasing the amount of trash in the waste stream: i.e. Any retrofits to maximize how the energy and/ or water is used, found ways to further recycling efforts.

3. Customer/Client Service (7 pts)
How has the candidate improved service to the customer and supported the Management in maintaining customer satisfaction: i.e. providing a positive interaction with clients and future clients to sell the advantages of the Facility.

4. Mentoring / Setting example to fellow employees (5 pts)
In what ways has the candidate support fellow staff to excel and offered them an example: i.e. share knowledge, offer solutions and support others ideas.

5. Safety (5 pts)
Ways in which the candidate has improved how the Facility operates safer or review possible hazard(s) and ways to eliminate them: i.e. prevent unsafe conditions, support safe practices and procedures, and lessen employee and owner exposure.

6. Regulatory Compliance (5 pts)
How has the candidate been proactive to limit or remove the exposure and liability to code related compliance i.e. Maintain a data base of time-lines between inspections to ensure readiness, inspection of the facility regularly to find and change current problems and/ or to ensure that past problems don't return due to team members taking short cuts.

7. Technology (5 pts)
What has the candidate done to apply new and emerging technologies to improve the operation?

8. Education (6 pts)
What has the candidate done to improve the operation that is related back to educational resources they have accomplished? Has the candidate attended the SDBEA training classes and shared that information with their facility team.
